Sciatica is a nickname for sciatic pain, or pain in the sciatic nerve. Sciatica can be severely painful and sometimes debilitating.

Sciatica is not a medical condition, but a symptom of an underlying condition or injury.

Sciatic symptoms include:

  • Pain that runs from your lower back into your legs
  • Numbness
  • Tingling
  • "Radiating Pain"
  • Shooting Pain in the legs
  • Sharp pain that makes it difficult or impossible to stand up and/or walk
  • Weakness in the legs
  • Pain that is worse when sitting
